The Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program is available to any qualified low income home owner who needs cash in order to perform a variety of basic home repairs. This specific housing rehab loan's main purpose is to preserve Washington's housing supply. If you're wondering where the money for this loan program comes from, it comes from a partnership of three groups: the HOME Investment Partnership Program, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Community Development Block Grant. They all know how much of a burden repair costs can be on people with low incomes so they want to be able to offer as much help as possible to make it easier on their wallets.

The Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program main priorities are to address homes that need to perform repairs that address dry rot, foundational problems, cosmetic repairs, weatherization, or internal problems such as mechanical issues or plumbing issues such as problems with sewage pumps, just to name a few.

There are qualification restrictions to access this loan and it's based on household size and income. A home that has one person living in it qualifies for the loan if they make under $40,000.
